Tea With Me (001)

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope the weather is nicer where you are than it is here in Washington, DC… It may be the first day of spring, but you’d never know it by looking out the window. It’s a nasty mix of snow and rain, which made for an unpleasant walk to the metro this morning.

Today, I’m introducing a new segment called “Tea with Me.”

I’ve been thinking a lot about the content that I share with you on Tea and Sea. I love trying out new products and sharing my thoughts with you, but I don’t want this space to feel like a constant commercial. I started this blog as a creative outlet and to connect with other people who share similar interests, and I want to stay true to that.

In my “real life,” one of my favorite things is to meet a friend for tea or coffee. The warm and cozy ambiance of a coffee shop is the perfect atmosphere for catching up and sharing.

I’d like to use this segment as a way for me to share what I’ve been up to lately: tidbits from daily life, recipes I’ve tried, links I’m loving… Just imagine we’re curled up in a coffee shop corner, warming our hands around steaming mugs of tea and chatting away like the friends we are (or will be).

I know better than to say I’ll post every week, but don’t be surprised if you see this pop up in your Friday blogroll from time to time.

This post is already pretty lengthy, but in the interest of starting things off on the right foot, here are a few thoughts from the week. Brew yourself a cup of tea and read on. Today I’m drinking Coconut Chai from Zhena’s Gypsy Tea.

  • I’m super late to the bandwagon, but I’m obsessed with The Jinx on HBO. Unfortunately I didn’t find out about it until the ending was ruined by the national media, but it’s still so good. If you were a fan of the podcast Serial, I highly recommend you watch it. It’s only 6 episodes long and it’s fantastic!
  • Dave and I have had to push back our moving plans due to complications with his roommates. It’s a little stressful not knowing exactly where I’m going to be living or when I’m going to be moving, but I’m trying to make the best of it and enjoy the excitement of getting our first place together. Hopefully we’ll be in our new home by the beginning of May.
  • I’ve always wanted to go to SXSW. Mostly for the cool tech conferences, but also for the awesome music. NPR released their Austin 100, and it’s been helping me through this crazy work week.
