Oh dear. I’ve been bitten by the skincare bug! Skincare products never used to excite me the way makeup did, but after realizing the power of a good skincare regimen a few months back, I’ve been reading lots of reviews in preparation for my next purchase.
(Sidenote: I recognize that one of the things that makes a skincare routine effective is constancy, so I definitely don’t planning on trying out these products all at once. Also, my wallet might have a heart attack.)
The Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox De-Puffing Eye Cubes could either be the most gimmicky thing I’ve ever heard of, or the greatest thing I’ve ever heard of. Either way, I’m intrigued. I suffer from dry, itchy eyes, and I feel like these would be quite soothing after looking at a computer screen all day. Or as part of a pamper session. Or as a hangover cure. Or all of the above.
I haven’t quite overcome my addiction to exfoliating, which is why I thought the Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal would be a gentle alternative to achieve a deeper clean while cleansing. I’ve never tried a Konjac sponge, but I’ve read good things.
Oh, the Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment. This is the stuff dreams are made of, right? The way beauty gurus talk about this serum, one would think it was the literal fountain of youth. The product claims to be a “brightening, multitasking, radiance and treatment mask.” All of those words sound like things I’d like in a skincare product. What can I say? I’m intrigued. I’m only human, after all. Maybe I’ll purchase it a few months before my wedding.
I’ve never actually heard anyone talk about the Origins Zero Oil Oil-Free Moisturizer, but it seems like it’s right up my alley. I like my current moisturizer, but it leaves my skin feeling a bit too greasy, which affects my makeup application. (Not to mention the fact that it’s like a zillion degrees in Washington, DC right now which means that anything that’s not completely matte instantly melts off my face.) This moisturizer claims to be lightweight, and oil free, with a pore-refining, matte finish. That basically sounds like my ideal moisturizer. And if it’s as good as the other Origins products I’ve tried, it will be money well spent.
The Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado has been on my beauty wish list for quite some time, but it’s not the most accessible brand in the world. Actually, that’s a lie. They sell it in the Blue Mercury right next to my Sephora, but I’m always A) Too lazy to make a second trip or B) Too shellshocked from the amount of money I’ve just dropped in Sephora. I like nice, thick eye creams and according to reviews– this is one of the best.
And finally, the Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask. You may remember from my skincare routine that I’m not thrilled with my current night cream. And while this one from Fresh is quite pricey, I have the face mask from the same line and quite like it. I always see plumper, softer skin after using the mask, and would love a night cream that performed similarly.
What skincare items are on your wish list? Anything else I should be lusting after? Let me know in the comments below. Hope you all have a good week!
