Despite what my boyfriend might tell you, I am capable of finishing my makeup in under ten minutes. It might be a bit of a struggle, and it might not happen often, but it can be done. The trick, I’ve found, is to select reliable products that you know work for you.
Today I’m sharing a 7 minute makeup routine that’s great for those days when you need to look polished in a pinch. And best of all? All of the products come from the drugstore, so it’s super affordable!
What I Used:
Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation in 101 Classic Ivory
Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Light
Milani Baked Blush in 02 Rose D’Oro
Covergirl Eyeshadow Quad in 700 Notice Me Nudes
Milani Color Statement Lipstick in 43 Pretty Natural
 Covergirl Super Sizer mascara
Apply foundation using a damp Beauty Blender or makeup sponge. I find that this is faster than using a makeup brush, and for this particular foundation, gives the most natural finish. I also like that I can add additional coverage where necessary, without looking cakey. (A problem I frequently face when using a makeup brush or my hands.)
Apply concealer in a triangle beneath your eyes and blend out with a sponge. Use your fingers to spot-conceal any blemishes. If you’re using the Maybelline concealer, do not apply straight from the container to any pimples. That spongey applicator is a magnet for germs, and you don’t want to cause future breakouts with a contaminated product.
Set foundation and concealer using your favorite powder. I find it necessary to powder all over (hello, oily skin!) but if you have dry skin, you may only need to set under your eyes and around your nose.
I specifically selected the “Notice Me Nudes” CoverGirl eyeshadow quad because of the matte brown shade. It’s a nice, ashy color, and works well for filling in my eyebrows. As for your eyes, you can really customize the look you create depending on how much time you have. If you’re pressed for time, simply blend shade #2 all over your lid. It’s the perfect shade for a one-shadow look. If you have a bit more time, you can add a bit of depth to the look. I blended shade #3 in the crease, deepened it with shade #4 in the “outer V,” and gave a bit of light to my eyes with shade #1 in the inner corner and on the brow bone. I kept the lower lash-line bare, but you can add a little bit of shade #2 for a smokier effect. Finish the eyes with mascara.
For lips and cheeks, you can really mix and match any products you like. However, I selected the Milani baked blush in Rose D’Oro. This burnt sienna color warms up my complexion beautifully without having to add a bronzer. Additionally, this shade is quite shimmery, allowing me to skip highlighting. It’s pretty much the perfect fall blush. (*swoon*) And finally, I added a swipe Milani’s Color Statement lipstick in the shade “Pretty Natural.” It’s a gorgeous neutral pink color, and the formula is super comfortable on the lips. It’s the perfect no-fuss shade for everyday.
There you have it. Nothing about this look is terribly complicated, but it is a great go-to routine for days when there’s just not enough time
