I hope you’re not sick of seeing photos of my lips (though, it’d be entirely justifiable after my recent post on MAC lipsticks) because I’m coming at you with some swatches and a review of ColourPop’s Lippie Stix. This brand has been gaining ground fast on the interwebs, and with good reason! Not only are their products incredibly affordable, but they’re brilliantly formulated and come in an amazing range of colors.
One of ColourPop’s most raved-about products are their Lippie Stix, highly-pigmented twist-up lip pencils in a variety of finishes. At just $5 a piece, I couldn’t resist the urge to pick up a handful to review for you. And if I didn’t have enough to rave about, all of ColourPop’s Lippie Stix come with coordinating lip liners (also $5). Not all are exact color matches, but they are intended to complement one another and be worn together. I’ve included swatches of the lip liners when I have them.
The Tartlette in Bloom palette just launched, and I can’t remember the last time I was this excited! When I first saw the photos online a few weeks ago, I actually squealed with delight. I ordered it as soon as it was available on Ulta’s website, and it arrived in my mailbox today.
For those of you eager to see what shades are inside, or maybe just trying to decide which one is right for you, today I’m comparing the original Tartelette palette with its new sequel, Tartelette in Bloom.
Despite what my boyfriend might tell you, I am capable of finishing my makeup in under ten minutes. It might be a bit of a struggle, and it might not happen often, but it can be done. The trick, I’ve found, is to select reliable products that you know work for you.
Today I’m sharing a 7 minute makeup routine that’s great for those days when you need to look polished in a pinch. And best of all? All of the products come from the drugstore, so it’s super affordable!
Confession: I am a lipstick hoarder. That probably doesn’t come as a surprise to many of you, but it’s true. I love lipstick. Maybe more than any other beauty product. You can change up your entire look with a single product. In my
hoard collection, two colors dominate: reds, and pinky-nudes. This post includes a small selection of the latter.
Over the past year or so, I have amassed quite a few MAC lipsticks. Their shade range is incredible, and they have a number of formulas so you can select just the right color and finish. For those of you looking for something specific, I thought I’d do one giant swatch-post.
Hi everyone! Sorry to leave you hanging! I realize I haven’t been blogging much lately, and I apologize for falling off the face of the earth.
As many of you know, my fiancé, Dave, and I moved into a new apartment in April. During all of the chaos that comes with moving into a new place, Dave was working 70+ hour weeks and traveling a lot, so the two of us didn’t have much time to enjoy the “moving in together experience.” During that time, I wanted to put a lot of effort into my blog, but it just wasn’t coming naturally. I was either exhausted from unpacking, or trying to enjoy the little time I had with Dave, and blogging began to feel like a chore. So I decided to take a breather and come up for air.
Now, after nearly a month off, I’m feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to put my nose to the grindstone again. A lot has happened in the last few weeks. I got my first promotion at work, I’ve begun studying for the GRE, and Dave and I have been in full-blown wedding planning mode. (When I got engaged, I promise myself that I wouldn’t let myself be totally consumed by wedding planning, but man– it’s tougher than I thought. And it’s actually been kind of fun.)
Speaking of wedding-related things, it’s become my latest excuse for splurging on makeup. (“Oh, wouldn’t this be a great lip color for the wedding?”) I’ve actually been pretty good recently, but this past week I decided a little splurge was in order. As usual, I wanted to take a moment to share my new finds with you.
Oh dear. I’ve been bitten by the skincare bug! Skincare products never used to excite me the way makeup did, but after realizing the power of a good skincare regimen a few months back, I’ve been reading lots of reviews in preparation for my next purchase.
