Currently Drinking: Twining’s English Breakfast Tea (From my favorite elephant mug!)
Happy Friday, everyone! I have the day off of work, and so I got to enjoy a rare, quiet breakfast with a hot cup of tea and a magazine.
It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write one of these “Tea With Me” check-ins. It’s a busy time of year, and I thought it might be nice to fill you in on some of the things happening in my world.
Hi everyone! I’m so sorry for the long intermission! Things got pretty crazy around the holidays. With the amount of traveling I’ve been doing, I didn’t have much time to keep up with this blog… I feel like I keep writing, “I promise to blog more consistently” in every single post, but I feel like my temporary hiatus did me some good.
Since we last spoke, I:
- Enjoyed a sunny Thanksgiving in Florida with my boyfriend and his family
- Revamped my personal photography website and started working on some new creative collaborations (stay tuned!)
- Spent two weeks in Wisconsin for Christmas with my parents and my (not so) little brother
- Rang in the New Year with friends in D.C.
Oh, and one more piece of exciting news…
The holidays are upon us! Thanksgiving is (quite literally) right around the corner, and Christmas comes shortly after that. Apart from the cold weather, this is absolutely my favorite time of year. Obviously, my the best part of the holidays is seeing my family. I live in Washington, DC and my parents live in Wisconsin. I don’t get to go home terribly often, and so I’m always grateful to spend some time with them around the holidays. But I also love the lights, the smells, the music, the food, and the general cozy atmosphere. There’s nothing better than curling up in a warm blanket with a cup of peppermint tea and watching a Christmas movie on TV.
I also love shopping for gifts for people — there’s nothing better than finding that perfect thing you know someone will love. Oddly enough, my boyfriend tells me I’m difficult to shop for. He’s been bugging me about what I want this year, and so I thought it would be fun to create a wish list. Most of these items aren’t things I need. In fact, I really don’t need any of them. But it’s fun to dream, right?
If money weren’t an object, I’d love to see some of these items under my tree… 😉
