A Pale Girl’s Guide to Bronzing and Contouring

DSC_0980

Summer’s coming, and you know what that means? Tropical vacations and beautiful, sun-tanned skin. Hah. In my dreams.

If you’re a pale girl like myself (MAC NW20), then you know the woes of trying to find the perfect bronzing and contouring products. Too warm and you look like an Oompa Loompa. Too cool and you look like you’ve been rolling around in the dirt. What’s a pasty girl to do? I’ve rounded up the (mostly) matte bronzers from my collection to help you find your perfect product.

Face Off | Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liner vs. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I’m a liquid liner kinda gal. I’ve loved the winged liner look ever since my junior year of high school, when my mom took me to a  Lancome counter before Homecoming. The woman tried her darndest to teach me how to create a perfect cat eye…and even though it took several years to perfect, I stuck with it. (Looking back at photos of myself from that era make me cringe…Oh how far I’ve come.)

Now, winged liner has pretty much become an everyday thing for me. There are obviously a million ways to wear liquid liner, but I especially love to pair a dramatic flick with a red lip. It just feels so classic and polished!

One of the things that I’ve learned over the years, is that it’s all about having the right tools. I’ve tried lots and lots of different liners, but I discovered the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner about two years ago, and it immediately became a staple. Last fall, however, I began hearing lots of people talk about the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I decided to give it a try, and I’ve been testing it out, side-by-side with the Stila liner for the past four months.

Here’s how the two stack up…
