Hi friends! Look who’s finally written their 2015 best of beauty post! It only took a bajillion years…
Asking me to pick my favorite makeup products is like asking me to pick a favorite child—it just can’t be done. I love all of them for different reasons. (Er…most of them, anyway.) That’s why, initially, I wasn’t going to write a 2015 favorites post. January is almost over, everyone else has done it, and I worried no one would want to read it. But then, one of my friends asked me to write it, and here I am. I’ve caved. Not all of these were 2015 discoveries, but I definitely used the heck out of all of them last year! I decided to save my skincare favorites for a future post—I’m long overdo for an updated skincare routine anyhow!
Without further ado, here’s my 2015 All Star Lineup!
October is always a busy month for me, and this year was no different. This month was jam-packed from end to end. In addition to taking the GRE, there was apple picking, camping, and our annual trip to the renaissance faire. Dave and I celebrated our 6-year anniversary and his birthday.
It’s been a good month for favorites. I find that I don’t do a ton of experimenting makeup-wise in the fall. Instead, I rely on a few, simple products that are easy and reliable. Here’s a sneak peak into what I’ve been reaching for this month.
It’s been a while since I’ve written a “Favorites” post, but it feels good to be back in business. These picks were a tough, as I’ve been wearing very little makeup the past few months. My beauty routine has been pretty minimal (I blame it on the God-awful DC humidity, but it’s mostly just laziness) but there are the handful of products I wanted to talk about.
Holy moly! Where did the month of May go? This month was crazy busy and jam-packed with so many fun things! My cousin Nicole came for a visit at the beginning of the month. She’s my biggest beauty enabler, and so you’d better believe that I got my Sephora fix while she was here. I also got to spend lots of time with Dave’s family. His youngest sister graduated from Georgetown a couple of weeks ago, and it was so great to celebrate everything she’s accomplished. The apartment is coming together nicely. I’ll probably have some photos ready for all of you to see in the next couple of weeks! (It depends on how long it takes me to motivate myself and hang photos…) Favorites-wise, I’ve got lots of fun things to share, so let’s dive right in…
Moving is hard y’all. The big move was two weeks ago, but I’m still exhausted! So far, I’m really loving the new place, but it feels a little like living in a really disorganized hotel. Nothing feels familiar and pretty much all of our stuff is still in boxes.
It’s been a pretty plain-Jane month, beauty-wise. With all my stuff in boxes, I’ve gone for the “no makeup makeup” look most mornings. I’m going to be getting a new makeup vanity, and so I haven’t bothered to unpack the boxes with my beauty products inside. So when I say that these are the things I’ve been using all month—I mean it! I didn’t have much choice! Luckily, I’ve been really happy with many of the items I set aside for the move.
I apologize that this post is coming so late. I’ve had it written since the end of March, but couldn’t find the time to take photos. I debated even posting it, but given how hectic things are going to be these next few weeks, I wasn’t sure the next time I’d be able to write.
Before I dive in, I’d like to apologize in advance for posting infrequently over the next couple of weeks. As some of you probably know, Dave and I are about to move into our first place together, and I’ll be busy packing and unpacking. Hopefully I’ll have time to pre-schedule a couple of things before my life gets too crazy. If not, please bear with me during my absence.
March felt like the longest month ever. I haven’t done anything terribly exciting, but it feels like a year ago that I was with my family in Chicago… That being said, I’ve been playing with lots of products this month, and have several to share with you. I’ll try to keep my descriptions brief so this doesn’t get too long.
