One of the great things about eyeshadow palettes is that there’s something out there for everyone. Whether you prefer subtle mattes or bold shimmers, classic neutrals or bold colors, there’s a palette to suit your needs. Personally, I prefer palettes that are predominantly neutral, with strategic pops of color. And while I usually opt for shimmery shades, I feel that a few basic matte shades are key for most eyeshadow looks.
A few years ago, a “Perfect Palette Tag” was circulating YouTube. Even though I don’t have a YouTube channel of my own, I thought that recreating the tag for my blog would be a fun way to share some of my favorite eyeshadow palettes with you!
Summer’s coming, and you know what that means? Tropical vacations and beautiful, sun-tanned skin. Hah. In my dreams.
If you’re a pale girl like myself (MAC NW20), then you know the woes of trying to find the perfect bronzing and contouring products. Too warm and you look like an Oompa Loompa. Too cool and you look like you’ve been rolling around in the dirt. What’s a pasty girl to do? I’ve rounded up the (mostly) matte bronzers from my collection to help you find your perfect product.
Last night, Dave and I went out to dinner and to see the new Cinderella movie as a sort of belated birthday celebration. My real birthday was last week, but I spent it at my grandfather’s funeral and I didn’t much feel like celebrating. Deciding it was time to stop moping around my apartment, I used the date as an excuse to get dolled up.
The two of us headed to Pacci’s, a local pizza restaurant that I love. They cook their pizzas in a wood-burning oven, and there’s something about the crust that’s extra delicious. I ordered a pizza topped with buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil and parmesan. We decided to skip dessert, but I was certainly tempted since the restaurant has a wall of Nutella at the entrance.
This is a tale about what happens when you lack self control… I’ve been trying really hard not to splurge on makeup the last few months. I have so many products that I really don’t need any new ones. But what fun is that? Any progress I’d made in sticking to a budget went completely down the drain during Sephora’s VIB Rouge Sale last week.
I went to Sephora not once, but twice during the sale. (Whoops!) I thought I’d sit down and take the chance to share my purchases with you. In an effort to keep this short, I’ll keep the product descriptions brief, but please feel free to let me know if you’d like me to do a review of any of these items in the comments below!
A higher price tag doesn’t always mean higher quality. In this mini series, I’m comparing some of my favorite high end products with their drugstore equivalents. Today, we’re on to the fun stuff: eyes and lips!
(And in case you missed it, be sure to check out part 1, where I reviewed some of my most-loved face products.)
